The Blagojevich saga drags on, embarrassing the Democrats just when they should be celebrating

THE 111th Congress is sworn in on Tuesday January 6th. The 435 representatives will take their places with a minimum of fuss, but the more august chamber, the Senate, is bogged down in the sort of machinations that a writer of political fiction would scarcely dare to dream up.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

They deserve to be embarrassed.

Bobby Rush's threat was not an idle one. The One looks to head into his new offices with a divided party.

I am sure that the Congressional Democrats and the incoming administration would love for this to go away. But, Blago won't. And now, Roland is making appearances on the morning news shows (and likely this evening's) to make the case for seating him ASAP.

The only new information I found in there was that some (or most?) Democrats want the purchased Senate seat given to it's buyer instead of the new Governor picking a different qualified and untainted person for the job. I was at first surprised, then reconsidered in light of the rest of the recent Democratic antics and it's not too surprising after all just sad.

Personally, I think it stinks, but Blago is the Gov with the appt authority and everyone should just suck it up for the next couple of years.  It's amusing...
